I would like to take a moment to thank my new video monitor for convincing me that Noah will never be allowed to move out of his crib.

…and yes, he was asleep for almost all of that.  Heaven help his wife.

    1. Well, I guess the line between awake for a minute and asleep is hard to tell, but we assume so, because this will regularly happen at 11pm, then he will all of a sudden collapse into a heap.

  1. Oh wow. I wonder if you actually rest well while sleepwalking. I have a cousin who sleep walked. His parents caught him on the 4-wheeler one night. Needless to say living on a farm wasn’t easy with a sleep walker.

    1. Nice!! Mental Note: No four wheelers for Noah.

Incidentally, I have woken up with three large and swollen bruises lately. I’m afraid I may be sleepwalk relapsing as well…

  2. You’re going to have to watch out when he’s older; my brother once sleepwalked into my parents room and peed on their bed. My girls talk in their sleep, but that’s more entertaining than worrying. Apparently, I sing.

  3. Oh my stars, that is nuts! My favorite is when he lifts up his blanket and looks like he’s watching his toes wiggle!

  4. Hahaha, that was an awesome song remix for those clips! How do you know he was sleeping?

Oh and I’ve been meaning to ask what kind of video monitor you bought? I’ve been thinking about getting one of those this time around, but don’t know anything about them. Can I mooch off your research skills? :)

    1. I’m pretty sure he was sleeping, because he will randomly do stuff like that at 11PM and then all of a sudden fall over in a heap. Crazy Kid…

I bought this Summer Infant Monitor. It was the only Summer Infant one that had good reviews, and most of the other brands had bad reviews, too. I am not sure, however, that I recommend having a video monitor – it has it’s pros and cons. I may write an in-depth post about this soon.

  5. Wow! Hopefully he outgrows it. I have mysterious bruises sometimes but I always assume I just the wall next to my bed. I hope I am not a sleepwalker .

    Love the music accompaniment though.

  6. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! i love the butt shaking. you have passed on your sleepwalking to the next generation. perhaps you’d better warn the ER now…

  7. Oh my! Did you get your sleep walking from any previous generation family member that you know of?

When he’s big enough to crawl out of the crib while asleep I’m picturing a mattress on the floor of a padded room containing only toys of the plush and stuffed variety!

Does he ever get night terrors? Eli will and will scream (blood curdling shrieks) and cry with his eyes open looking right at us, but we can’t reach him and just have to hold the poor terrified little guy until it passes. It usually takes about 20 minutes, and sometimes Baby Mozart can break through it. I so hope he outgrows it quickly. Thankfully it doesn’t happen too often and we can avoid it a bit by not letting him get too overtired.

Yesterday evening it was humorous because he “woke up” not screaming but fussy. I knew he was still asleep because he was making the “I’m 0.002 seconds away from latching on” face, but kept bypassing the offered nipple and going for my nose. Ahem… there are limits to what a mother will allow.

  8. That was amazing. My cousin once got into bed while asleep with his MIL and told her to move over. Embarrassing for all in the morning, but hilarious as a story. Noah looks like he might have some stories to tell in the future.

  9. Wow! I’ve been known to sleepwalk, but don’t have nearly the stories you do. I still often will wake up as I’m running for the kids when they cry in the middle of the night. In high school I worked at McDonald’s, and would often dream about work. I remember waking up one night on the other side of my room, with my flashlight on, looking for fry boxes!

  10. Someone I know well (nameless to protect the innocent ) used to sleepwalk to the toilet all the time. But he’d get lost en route. His mom would help him get to the right room, but he’d cry and walk back down the hall to the shower room. Where he’d insist on peeing. Even though no toilet there.

But that was better than using the bathroom with toilet, because more than once he mistook the hinged laundry basket lid for that of the toilet…

    1. I’ve heard so many stories of boys sleep-peeing. Luckily, this seems to be limited the the male population, so I haven’t experienced. Unluckily, I might with Noah.
