It’s Thursday again!!! Time to consider what you’re thankful for and link it in!

As I said in my originating post, I’m going to focus on being thankful for the age that Ali is at (in order to start that habit before her next birthday – the big T-W-O). So here’s mine:

Reason #372 that the age between 1 and 2 is AWESOME!!!

We were eating our breakfast of shared pancakes the other day, and I ate my last one while she still had some on her tray.

Ali looked at my plate, troubled.

Ali: “Mommy’s cakes all gone”.
Me: “Yes, Mommy’s cakes all gone.”
Ali: “Ali’s cakes!!” (pointing at her own pancakes)
Me: “Yes, those are Ali’s cakes!!”
Ali: (looking back and forth): “Mommy’s cakes all gone. . . Ali’s cakes!. . . Mommy’s cakes all gone. . .Ali’s cakes!!. . .Mommy’s cakes all gone. . .”

The lightbulb goes off, and she picks up one of her pancakes and puts it in my mouth and says “Cake for Mommy!!”.

I do love this age.

I am so thankful that she is kind, generous, thoughtful, and more than willing to share. And, most importantly, that she hasn’t learned the word “MINE!!!!” yet!

What are you thankful for today?

Link it in using Mr. Linky if you want to write it on your blog, or leave it in a comment on this one!! I can’t wait to read what you are thankful for this week!

  1. Well I had to think about this one since I spent the beginning of the week sick with the stomach flu. I wasn’t feeling very thankful, but I am thankful that I am getting over the illness and that it wasn’t worse. I am thankful that my Dad didn’t get as severe a case as me. I am also thankful that in the scheme of things my only problem was the flu I realize that there are so many people who have to deal with more serious illnesses on a daily basis, and do it with courage and hope I can only dream of having. So I am counting my blessing that a stomach flu is all I have to weather.

  2. I’m thankful for the wonderful people at Slappey. :) I’m thankful that I you are my wonderful friend that keeps me in line and likes to challenge my thought processes. :) Love you. :)

  3. I am thankful the hurricane did not hit us any worse than it did and that it was not as bad anywhere as they thought it would be when it started. I do wish prayers for people who are being affected by the hurricane. Love you, Ali, Chris :) k

  4. I am thankful for generic meds. You feel better for less. That’s always a good thing. Christie and I would live in a tent if Motrin didn’t = ibuprofen due to her House-like addiction to its proven pain relief. Hope you get feeling better. By the way I’ve heard lithotripsy is a real blast!

  5. Since this “thankful Thursday” is the day after our anniversary, I’m thankful for 36 wonderful years of marriage and it keeps getting better every year. I’m also thankful for wonderful Bible teachers that taught me God’s design for marriage and how to be a wife according to His Word. Otherwise our marriage might not have weathered as well through the difficult times. Praise God! Mom
