So, Ali and I like to stalk get to know our readers…

Other eye, kid.

IMG_9278

That’s better.

…and I’ve noticed that we have some new readers (I think from the crazy trip around the internet that my Mom Jeans post just took). All of my regular commenters know that I try my best to get to know them, and so I want to get to know all of you new people too! I know I’ve been to visit some of you, but I also know I’ve missed some.

So, if you’re new around here (or not new and have just never introduced yourself), say hi! Tell me about yourself, and if you have a blog, be sure to give me the link so that I can come visit you!

Also, while I’m making y’all do the blogging, I’ve been meaning to put a link-up for all of my fellow-preggo readers. I know that there are a bunch of you, and I’m having trouble keeping up with who is due when. So link into this Mister Linky with your blog URL, and in the title, put your name and your due date (and boy/girl, if you know yet!). I’ll put myself in first for an example.

Oh – and if you don’t have a blog but are still expecting, then leave your preggo info in the comments.

So, to recap in case I’ve made this all too confusing, comment if you’re new, and link-up if you’re pregnant. Or comment if you’re pregnant if you don’t have a blog or just don’t like Mister Linky.

Thanks for blogging for me today – you guys are the best!

  1. Hi there – I'm a new reader and I think I did find you from the "mom jeans" post. So funny. I came for the mom jeans and stayed for everything else! I do have a blog as well…

I have one daughter who just turned 9 months old. Nice to "meet" you!

  2. Hey, I've been reading your blog for about a month now. I'm pretty sure I stumbled upon it while flipping through the blogs. I really enjoy reading your posts and always read older posts that you've linked in newer posts. I still haven't decided if the toenail clipping art is sweet or gross or a little bit of both. :D I have a farm blog if you'd like to read it sometime.

  3. I can't remember how I found you, but it was a while ago. There are tons of preggos in blogland. I quit drinking the blog water months ago! ;) Hope things get a little less queasy for you.

  4. I'm a new reader too and love your blog :) The mom jeans post lead me to you as well! I have two kiddos (2 and almost 5), work full time and also do Uppercase Living as my fun side job :) I have blog, but not an interesting blog – just Uppercase Living stuff that I slack off on and don't update – I've turned into a facebook junkie instead and post my UL stuff there :) Anywhoo… love reading and thanks!

  5. I found your blog after someone linked to your Mom Jeans post. Loved it! I subscribed because you made me laugh.

I'm a 26 year old mom of a 2 year old and a 6 week old. I love my family, being frugal, crafting, and God.

  6. I AM new, and I DID find your blog through the Mom Jeans post! I love your writing style, and immediately suggested the no-gifts-just-a-big-family-vacation thing to my mom and husband. I guess I'm hooked!

I'm Heather, I'm 34 (yikes!) and I have two kids. My son will be 4 in June, and I have a baby daughter who's just 6 weeks old.

    I write at:

    Nice to meet you!

  7. I've been subscribed since the Mom Jeans – waiting for the therapy of knowing I really shouldn't wear my favorite pair of shorts this winter, no matter how comfey they are – a pair of elastic no pocket lee jean department store shorts, one size too big. :) Sigh.

  8. OH, my stomach just hurts from laughing so much right now! I did come just today because of the "mom jeans" post, and after reading thru more- I had to stop at the google one- strange looks from people as I laugh continually at my computer with tears down my face does cause me to draw the line sooner or later!
God bless you, you are hilarious!
    My blog is htp://lifesajourney-alicia.blogspot.com

  9. I found you from your mom jeans post. Still trying to convince my mom on all of it! She wears mom jeans. Majorly. I have a crazy 3-y-o and an 8-week-old peanut. :) Oh, and a blog, but it should be in the link.

  10. Hidee Ho!

I followed you here from the mom jeans post as well!

I am 26wks preggers and expecting another little boy on Aug 21st, 2010.

  11. New reader here, too! I happened upon a link to your "Mom Jeans" post and found it so informative that I put it on my Facebook status as a Mother's Day PSA for all of my friends and family. I've been checking in ever since to see what other gems you have to offer. I have a three year old daughter and am expecting #2 this July, so as you might imagine I can commiserate with a lot of your topics! Your blog is so clever and entertaining, and I really look forward to each new entry. Thanks for sharing, and best regards!

  12. I'm also a "mom jeans" reader! :) Glad you are linking the preggo bloggers since I have had trouble finding some good ones…

  13. I'm another newbie from the Mom Jeans post. I've really enjoyed your blog – thanks for taking the time to do it, even during the yuck of all-day-sickness. I, on the other hand, though I don't blog, started to keep a pregnancy journal about a week before we found out for sure that our latest was on the way. About a week and a half into it I thought it would be better to give it up than to fill it with page after page of how many times I threw up that day! Maybe it's time to jump back into it, now. Kudos to you for being able to keep it up!

Our 6th is due October 2nd. I'm halfway there!

  14. yep, it was totally the mom jeans post someone else put up on facebook :-)

I have two little girls, 2.75 years and 4 months, and can deeply relate to pregnancy, princesses, and the ensuing mayham.

Reading your blog also inspired me to start my own, mostly from the realization of how absurdly happy it will make the (living in other states) grandparents. And my husband's deployed and I have nobody to talk to and spend my evenings procrastinating housework via the internet, hence why reading your blog and writing my own are awesome activities (because really, ANYTHING is more awesome than the never ending dishes and laundry cycles, and your stuff makes me laugh so it's even more awesome for procrastination while mine makes me pretend that I'm be productive while just actually mostly just playing on the computer).

  15. Hi everyone!! I'm so excited to meet all of you!! And, by the way, don't freak out if your comment isn't showing up yet – Blogger is having a bit of an issue tonight, apparently. I'm getting all the notifications of comments, but they're not showing up here.

I'm off to visit all of your blogs!! Thanks for introducing yourselves!!!

  16. Hi I'm Heather – also caught on after the "mom jeans" that I found through facebook…I have 3 kids (boy 8, girl 5, girl 1) – better not be preggo! I don't have a blog but I think we're following each other on twitter and that's the closest thing I have to a blog :-) Love your stuff – always makes me laugh, your daughter sounds a lot like mine…I died laughing reading the "Tot Locker" blog – I swear we've played that game in the car (make up an inappropriate name for your daycare center…we also did one about making up names for your race horse…). I just turned 32 ,I'd lie and say 29, but that just makes me feel older, especially when my kids correct me :-(.

  17. Hey! I am a fairly new reader. I just love your writing style and hearing all about your adventures with your daughter. I can't remember how I stumbled across you, but it may have been the "uncle joe's tot locker," since it confused me too (we live in the same city).

    I have a 18-month old little girl. I do have a blog as well… http://thelifeofbradandleslie.blogspot.com

Hope you get to feeling better soon. Unfortunately, I was one of those unfortunate people that threw up every single day of my pregnancy :( Greet to "meet" you.

  18. I'm a newby. LOVE the Mom Jean and "Because I like to be helpful" posts! Thanks for the levity…I've passed you on to my friends ;*D

  19. I too found you from the mom jeans post and helped to spread it around. I rolled with laughter at the "Tot Locker" story. And immediately added you to my newsreader :-)

    I blog at bearing blog.

  20. Hi! I'm a new reader, first time commenting-er… commentinger? anyways- I, like many others saw your mom jeans post and just got a little hooked.
Nice to meet you! I have to say, its not often that you see bloggers reaching out to get to know their audience personally. I appreciate that!

  21. Hi Rachel…
I am not new…I have been stalking you for almost a year now. Your writing style just cracks me up. I love that you have pics, but not 5 million of them, and that you are a believer, but you don't preach. I also love the crazy husband football stories…because I have been there done that! I especially love that you find the humor in things that we as girls who have somehow grown up to become moms really want to cry about, but it would do no good. So its better to laugh about it. Keep it up!

  22. You know me, but I thought I'd play along anyway! I'll only be a prego reader for a few more weeks (maybe less). :)

  23. lol, i've been reading for ages…i found you because you commented on my blog and i followed your profile to find out who you were and been stalking…err…reading…ever since. lol. =)

  24. Hi! I found you through the mom jeans post – it cracked me up! I have a 4 year old and a 9 month old and I love reading about your adventures. Your little girl is gorgeous, too, and so photogenic! Congrats on the pregnancy and good luck :)

  25. Hey Rachel,

I as well am a new reader. I did not find you through "Mom Jeans" but through your post on your contract with your new unborn child when a friend sent it to me. We are but 2 days apart as I am due for our first child on 12/29! Enjoying reading! Thanks and Roll Tide Roll!

    Stephanie

  26. I quit blogging a while back because I couldn't do that and take classes at the same time – not enough cerebral energy. But I'm pregnant! Due mid-November, though I expect baby will be here around Thanksgiivng. I love reading about Alli because she's just a few months older than Sara and I can see what fun to expect in just a little while.

  27. Wow – I knew I had a few new readers, but I didn't know there were so many of you! Thank you SO MUCH for saying hi – I'm excited to meet all of you!

(And a bit intimidated, since this nausea-inducing parasite in my stomach has greatly reduced my blogging quality…)

  28. Hi Rachel,

I began reading your blog in February when a friend sent me a link to the Mom Jeans post, and I've been hooked since. I used to live in Birmingham, but I now live in Atlanta (moved here to get married two and a half years ago). I love your sense of humor and writing style. I also love the fact that you share aspects of your walk with the Lord. Although, the Lord hasn't blessed me with children yet, I feel like I can relate to you in a lot of ways (one of them being that Excel is also one of my good buddies). ;) Unfortunately, I don't have a blog to share with you. Sorry the "getting to know" is a little one-sided, and I apologize for lurking so long without commenting. Thanks for writing such a wonderful blog.

  29. Hi Sarah! Thanks for introducing yourself. I love knowing my readers whether they're bloggers or not. Are you enjoying ATL? I've always thought that it would be a bit of a culture shock to move from BHM to ATL. I love visiting, but living there would be…different. :)

Marty – that's hilarious! Thanks for sharing. :)

Hi Rebecca! Glad you found me and enjoy it. Welcome!

  30. Hi Rachel, You've already found my blog…due to the fact that I posted a link to your Carnivorous Creations post, and called you weird:P My sister introduced me to your blog via the Mom Jean post and I have been hooked ever since! I love the way you write and have enjoyed reading about your life.

  31. Found you through "mom jeans" posted at the blog "Beauty Tip for Ministers". I'm the wife of a minister and always looking for ways to dress appropriately since I'm in the public eye. At 49 found the mom jeans for over 50 entry the best ever and I can't wait to get a new pair of jeans. The trouble I have in the dressing room is getting a really good look at my behind because when you twist around to look at yourself you only get a portion of the butt. Need to take a friend.
I think your daughter is adorable and your stories remind me of my daughter who is now 10.

  32. Hi, Callie, Amy, Jessamy and Marlene! Thanks for reading!

Marlene – I hope you have great luck with jeans buying! It's a lot of fun when you can get great ones!!

  33. Rachel,

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. Moving from Birmingham to Atlanta has definitely been a huge culture shock in many ways. I loved your post about Dragon Con. I had not been here long at all when I left the office to get some lunch one day and found myself in the midst of Dragon Con! That was quite the experience. I miss Birmingham — I think it would be hard find a better place to live than the Magic City, but it's been incredible to see God work in my and my husband's lives while we've been here. He took care of every tiny detail of my move over here, and He blessed us with a wonderful church. When I thought I had an unbearably long commute, He turned it into a time of prayer and audio Bible study that has truly been a blessing. Birmingham is our special date city now. We love to go back and visit. It's wonderful to get that little taste of "home" every now and then.
I meant to tell you — Congrats on the new baby. I am so excited for you. I can't wait to "meet" Newbie!

  34. I found the mum jeans post on pinterest, really needed to read it! Am now enjoying perusing your other posts. I’m a mum from Canberra, Australia, 2 daughters aged 6 & 8. Love seeing what you have to say about things! I gather this is from a while ago, so I hope the bub you were preggers with when you wrote this arrived safe & sound :)
