A few weeks ago, I rather bashfully proclaimed via Twitter and Facebook who I found to be THE most romantic singer in the world. I expected everyone to make fun of me for my choice (Bryan Adams – …sigh…), but only one person did, and a bunch of people agreed with me, surprisingly enough.

But what I REALLY didn’t expect was that my proclamation sparked the widest reaching conversation/debate that I’ve ever had on my Facebook wall… and it was fascinating to see who everyone chose for their most romantic artist.

So, when Chris and I were sitting on the couch that night, I asked him who his pick was, and it didn’t take him much time to answer: Norah Jones.

…And then he got this faraway, dreamy look in his eyes as I saw him start to mentally romance-out to Norah Jones…

…And then the singing began, as he gave me multiple examples of Norah Jones songs that he found to be especially romantic…

…And then…oh never mind.

So, the next week, when I got an email asking if I’d like to review and give away a copy of Norah Jones’ newest CD, well I just HAD to jump at that opportunity!

Norah Jones’ newest collection, “…Featuring”, will be released on November 16th, and it is an amazing collection of all of the collaborations that Norah has done over the past decade.

…Which makes this album one of the most diverse albums I’ve ever heard – 18 songs with artists from every genre, including Dolly Parton, the Foo Fighters, Willie Nelson, OutKast, Ray Charles, and Ryan Adams.

(Ryan, not Bryan Adams…too bad – a duet between Norah Jones and Bryan Adams would be, like, the most magicest moment ever for our marriage.)

I loved all of the different sounds and genres of the album – it includes Blues, Jazz, R&B, Rock, and Country, to name a few.

And Chris? He most definitely approved.

If you would like to win a copy of this excellent new album, leave a comment and tell me who YOUR choice is for the most romantic artist.

Disclosure: I received a review copy of the CD, but no other compensation for this giveaway, other than, I suppose, an extremely blissful husband. My opinions are always my own. And yes, I know Bryan Adams is one ugly man. But he’s got an amazingly romantic voice, much like Ms. Jones.

  1. I like Norah Jones too, but I stand by my first choice which is your choice Bryan Adams, I have always loved him. Heaven is my favorite song by him although the Robin Hood song is up there too.
if I had to pick a country singer it would Keith Urban but Bryan even beats him out.
I am rambling so I will stop

  2. Bryan Adams disqualified himself the moment he released "Summer of '69."

The most romantic artist is easily Frank Sinatra. You can go ahead and hand me the CD.

  3. I LOVE Norah Jones!!! & I definitely think she's a romantic singer but I think THE most romantic singer is Dave Barnes…sigh…so dreamy…

  4. I don't think I want to "never mind…" just as you're getting to the good stuff. :) And I hereby enter myself for what I believe to be a very romantic album.

  5. I would hands down have to say Norah Jones. Her voice is so so amazing. My first dance with Noah as husband and wife was to her song, "Come Away With Me". Love her :)

  6. If I recall correctly, Norah Jones was indeed my original pick for most romantic singer. I should get extra credit for that!

  7. Okay, I couldn't pick Nora Jones out of a lineup so maybe I need to win this so I can see what all the romance is about.

I like Bryan Adams also. I can't think of anyone else right now! My romance song que is gone right out of my mind.

Love the comment about Nora and Bryan making an album together. Too funny!

  8. You and your husband both have good romantic singer picks. Norah Jones is so versatile – she can go from mellow to steamy so easily.

  9. Bryan Adams has some pretty great songs, but I would have to say Frank Sinatra. My husband said George Strait when I asked him. I guess it depends on what genre are going for. I think country has some of the most romantic songs, but not necessarily romantic singers.

  10. Dave Barnes, "I have and I always will" = top favorite love song. It was also out first dance at our wedding.
Close second= "I will not take my love away" by Matt Wertz. In general, though, Dave Barnes takes the cake :)

  11. Harry Connick Jr. is pretty romantic! He sings, acts and is goooooood looking!

  12. If this is an international giveaway, count me in. Faithful blog and twitter follower (fb scares me)! Love Norah Jones. And your blog. :)

  13. Geez, how do I say this?? Ummm, I’m not one to listen to romance songs. I’m more of a power song kinda girl. I love Nanci Griffith. Not because her name is spelled the same as mine, but I love her voice. Late Night Grande Hotel is my favorite CD.

  14. I tweeted this. Then re-tweeted when the uber cool WK did it, then retweeted because I’ve know to sing like a canary. Interrogations always my enemy.

  15. I follow you on Facebook, Twitter, at lunch, on the street, in a car…ok, just teasing. Geez…I’m not really a stalker. ;)

  16. I thought I replied already, but I don’t think I did. I think Norah Jones is probably pretty close if not THE most romantic singer on my list. =) Although Bryan Adams is pretty cool, too…

  17. I really like Tony Bennett for most romantic singer! Hope I win the giveaway ~ Norah Jones would be my #2 most romantic singer!! :)

  18. Josh Groban is my choice of the most romantic singer currently—-I also think that Perry Como was a great old timer in the romantic style.

  19. Most Romantic? Oh please!!! Harry Conick Jr.!! Good looks and he can sing!! Uummm baby!

  20. I would choose Norah Jones, but outside of her, I think Rod Stewart nailed the area of romance with his old-tunes remakes. Those were incredible and very full of amore’

  21. My favorite romantic artist has to be Nora Jones. I grew up listening to her and her smooth jazzie styled music.
