The saga of styling Ali’s hair seems to be ever present in my mind and blog, a dreadfully boring subject to at least 70% of you, I’m sure.

However, all of my mornings of attempting to spray and scrunch her hair so she didn’t look like a mangy dog despite her desperate attempts to get away from me have finally paid off.

She was taking FOREVER to wash her hands after going to the bathroom, so I finally called out and asked her what she was doing in there.

“I’m Scrunching!!!!! ….so now you don’t have to.”

She wouldn’t let me see, of course, but the next day, I snuck in, and after being caught on camera, she was nice enough to give me a very informative tutorial on fixing curly hair. So I’ll let her do the rest of this post:

At least I know WHY we scrunch, now. To keep the water in, of course.

(She has also informed me that scrunching can also be called “Wrinkling”, and doesn’t at all understand why MY hair won’t wrinkle like hers.)

And okay. I admit it. There might have been a BIT of incentive offered in between video takes…but I needed details!

  1. bahaha dont you love how little kids always tell on you??…if you hadn't of asked her why she always has to tell on you, i wouldnt have thought twice about the pez comments…you are always saying how much she loves her pez!! haha!

  2. So cute! Ali's scrunching technique very closely resembles the hair wash "massage" you get at Hair Reflections! Maybe Ali could earn some extra bucks washing hair! ;)

  3. Seriously, I've never met her but I love her! She is so adorable. I don't see how you can keep from kissing those sweet dimples all the time!

  4. Lol, my two year old baby boy was on my lap when I played your video, and now he's in love with your daughter! He keeps making me play it over and over, lol!

  5. I'm totally loving the bribery. At least I know I'm not alone in that parental method of getting something caught on camera!

  6. We don't do a whole lot of scrunching at our house….but she clearly should get some Pez for her super scrunching ability! Oh and for being so cute. :-)

  7. Haha, I will have to use this tutorial when K's hair gets a little longer. For now we don't have to scrunch, just lots of detangler and a comb. :)
